President Bola Tinubu is currently at the 63rd independence anniversary ceremony of the Republic of Benin.
Benin gained independence from France on August 1, 1960 — two months before Nigeria.
Tinubu and other leaders are at Amazone Square, Cotonou, the country’s capital, to celebrate the independence anniversary.
Tinubu arrived in Cotonou, Benin’s capital, on Tuesday morning.

On Monday, Dele Alake, Tinubu’s special adviser on special duties, communications and strategy, announced that the president is the special guest of honour.
