President Bola Tinubu on Thursday hosted his Ghanaian counterpart, John Mahama, at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
Both leaders are meeting for the second time since Mahama became Ghana’s president in December 2024.
On December 17, Mahama visited the Nigerian leader in Abuja following Tinubu’s congratulatory message to him after his victory in Ghana’s December 7 general election.
Mahama, who served as Ghana’s president from 2012 to 2016, won the elections after polling 56.55 percent of the vote cast, to defeat Vice-President Mahamudu Bawumia, candidate of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), with 41.6 percent
The Thursday’s meeting between Tinubu and Mahama was believed to be about strengthening diplomatic relations between Ghana and Nigeria.
