Babajide Sanwo-Olu, governor-elect of Lagos state, and Bola Tinubu, a national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), were among the dignitaries who witnessed the burial of Mufutau Hamzat, father of Obafemi, deputy-governor elect of Lagos state.
Until his death on Sunday evening, Hamzat was olu of Afowora Sogade, a traditional stool in Ogun state.
He was a frontline politician in Lagos state, having served as a commissioner and a lawmaker.
He was elected into the state house of assembly under the platform of the Unity Party of Nigeria (UPN) in 1979.
