Uba Sani, governor of Kaduna, on Tuesday met with members of the judiciary led by Tukur Aliyu, chief judge of the state.
Sani said the meeting was held “in a bid to strengthen public trust in the justice system, improve citizens’ access to justice and effectively tackle the challenges of insecurity in Kaduna”.
In a post on his official Twitter handle, he called on the judiciary to work with the state government, noting that his administration is committed to the full implementation of the autonomy of the judiciary.
“While commending members of the Kaduna bench for their selfless services to the state, I urged them to partner with us to tackle the challenges of insecurity in the state,” Sani said.

“For us to succeed in tackling criminality, the judiciary must play a critical role. People must be made to account for their action and inactions.
“The full weight of the law must be brought to bear on those who have been putting our communities under siege and destroying the economies of rural areas.
“I assured the learned justices that our administration is committed to the full implementation of the autonomy of the judiciary.
