PHOTOS: Women protest at national assembly against ‘gender bias’ in constitution amendment

Some women staged a protest at the national assembly on Wednesday over the rejection of five bills that will include them in leadership and governance.

While voting on 68 bills to amend the 1999 constitution on Tuesday, none of the bills seeking to favour women scaled through.

The protesters accused the national assembly of being biased against women.
