PHOTOS: Women wing of APC campaign donates relief materials to flood victims in Yobe

The women’s campaign team of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has donated relief materials to flood victims in Yobe state.

The relief materials, including the sum of N20 million, were donated to the flood victims on Friday.

Oluremi, wife of Bola Tinubu, presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and other members of the team were received by Mai Bala Buni, governor of Yobe, at the government house.

Oluremi said the relief materials will ease the suffering caused by the flood.

She said the N20 million will assist 400 victims with N50,000 each to “enable them to recapitalise the small-scale businesses which they were engaged in before the flooding occurred”.

The team also presented the relief materials sent by Aisha Buhari, wife of President Muhammadu Buhari.

In his remarks, Buni said the donations will “go a long way in bringing succour to the victims”.

TheCable had reported how the team donated cash and relief materials to flood victims in Benue.

The 2022 flooding is said to be the worst in decades, and over 600 deaths have been recorded, while millions of persons have been displaced.

Currently, the floods have affected 34 out of the 36 states in the country with Benue, Kogi, Bayelsa, Delta, Anambra, and Kano being the worst-hit.
