Babagana Zulum, governor of Borno state, on Monday met families of policemen and civilian JTF volunteers ambushed and killed by Boko Haram fighters while on their way to Baga as his security backup.
Zulum visited the headquarters of Borno state police command in Maiduguri where the bereaved families gathered to receive him.
The governor, who said he felt sad by the incident, said the security operatives died as heroes.
Zulum was also at the state specialist hospital in Maiduguri to console those injured from the Baga ambush.
