Babagana Zulum, governor of Borno, has visited Nigerian refugees in Chad as part of efforts to ensure their repatriation to Nigeria.
Zulum met with 5,000 families at Dar Es Salaam refugee camp in Baga Sola, a border community in Chad.
Thousands of Borno residents had fled to Chad for safety, as a result of attacks by Boko Haram insurgents.
The governor also had a meeting with Idriss Deby, president of Chad, to seek his support on evacuating the Borno residents to Nigeria.
