Nyesom Wike, the federal capital territory (FCT) minister, says women are crucial to the development of the society.
In a statement on Saturday to mark the International Women’s Day (IWD), the minister, through Lere Olayinka, his senior special assistant on public communication and social media, described women as “pillars of our homes”.
Wike said his ministry would ensure women receive deserved recognition and positions of influence, highlighting their vital role in family management and societal sustenance.
He specifically acknowledged the women of the FCT, including Mahmoud Mariya, minister of state for FCT, and Grace Adayilo, the first female head of service, for their significant impact in the nation’s capital.
