Nigeria’s youth football teams will no longer receive bonuses but will be motivated for their participation in competitions, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) president, Amaju Pinnick, has said.
In his address on the achievements of the federation and national teams in the 2015 calendar year on TV, Pinnick praised the female football teams for bringing honours to the country.
He described the withdrawal of bonuses as a necessary move to allow the players focus on their development, which was the essence of such competitions.
Speaking on Channels TV, Pinnick said the little availability of funds made it necessary that the federation cut down on expenses while confirming that none of the teams would be withdrawn from any of the youth grade tournaments.
