Nora Dadu’ut, candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has been declared winner of the Plateau south senatorial bye-election.
The election was conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Saturday and Dadu’ut emerged victorious with 83,151 votes.
She defeated George Daika, her main challenger and member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who secured only 70,836 votes.
She won in four local government areas in the senatorial zone — Shendam, Wase, Quan’pan, and Mikang, while Daika won in the two local government areas of Langtang North and Langtang South.
