Plateau Utd maintain NPFL lead despite loss

Plateau United’s lead at the top of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) was reduced to two points after losing 1-0 to FC Ifeanyi Ubah.

El-Kanemi Warriors defeated Nasarawa United 2-0 to inch closer to United at the summit.

Despite the loss, Plateau United still remain top with 20 points from 10 matches while El-Kanemi is in second place with 18 points.

In some of the other matches played on Sunday, ABS defeated Wikki Tourists 1-0 in Ilorin as Lobi Stars came from behind to beat Enyimba 2-1.

Niger Tornadoes defeated Gombe United 1-0 same as Kano Pillars beat Katsina United 1-0 through Chinedu Udoji’s first goal for the club since joining from Enyimba.

Sunshine Stars put aside their recent protest over unpaid salaries behind to beat Rivers United 1-0 in Akure, Ondo state.

The weekend started with MFM beating Rangers 2-1 on Friday while on Saturday, Remo Stars recorded their first point on the road in a 1-1 draw against Shooting Stars as Akwa United defeated Abia Warriors 3-1.
