Lagosians have taken to social media to air their views on the rehabilitation of roads leading to the New Afrika Shrine, 24 hours before Emmanuel Macron, French president, visited the legacy building.
Macron visited the Shrine on Tuesday to inaugurate the 2020 African Cultural Season.
Reacting to the impromptu road upgrade, Lagosians urged Macron to visit other locations so the state government will be encouraged to fix the bad roads around the city.
“Dear President Macron…I know there is no African Shrine in Ajah area of Lagos but please kindly pay a visit to anywhere along ADO ROAD. This is the only way @followlasg will do resolve the lingering traffic issues and fix the terrible road,” Igwe Osita tweeted.

From okokomaiko to mile 2 on the badagry express way is worst, nothing less than 2 hours it will costs you because of heavy traffic, a journey which should not be more than 45mins. Is @EmmanuelMacron not coming to badagry beach?

The visit of the French President galvanized the Ambode led Lagos State govt, into a frenetic road repair. This is symptomatic of the disdain and disregard govt, at ALL levels of the APC leadership, has for Nigerians.

This is not the Ikeja/Lagos community we know.
We do not see this number of Police officers protecting our neighborhood.
Where are the roadside hustlers who strive daily to make a living?#MacronAtNewAfricaShrine #MacroninNigeria
