Jimoh Moshood, force public relations officers, says the police have arrested 11 suspects for alleged armed robbery and kidnapping.
Moshood said this on Wednesday while parading the suspects at the Jere divisional headquarters in Kaduna state.
The spokesman said police officers seized weapons from the suspects along Abuja-Kaduna and Kaduna-Kano highways and rescued four victims, comprising three men and a woman.
He said the suspects would be arraigned in court after the investigation is completed.

“The 11 suspects arrested during interrogation confessed to the crimes and admitted to have carried out several kidnapping/armed robberies attacks on innocent travellers on Birnin Gwari – Funtua and Birnin Gwari-Kaduna and Kaduna – Kano roads in recent times,” Moshood said.
“Four victims comprising three men and a woman were rescued from them alive and unhurt during the operation without payment of ransom.
“They will be arraigned in court on completion of an investigation.”

He named the suspects as Hassan Ibrahim, Bello Abdullahi, Lukman Jubrin, Yahaya Saibu, Victor Abila, Likita Umar and Abdullahi Haruna among others.
Some of the weapons allegedly recovered from the suspects are three AK 47 rifles, 72 rounds of AK 47 ammunition, three locally made guns, machetes and charms.
