The Lagos state command of the Nigerian police force says it has arrested 26 suspects in connection with the murder of Sikiru Ogboye, who monitored the collection of Permanent Voters Card (PVC) on behalf of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos.
The 25-year-old was allegedly shot dead by suspected thugs on Sunday.
Kenneth Nwosu, the state public relations officer, confirmed to journalists in Lagos that Ogboye was killed while reportedly monitoring the collection of PVC.
“Ogboye was killed in a suspected clash between supporters of different political parties,” he said.
