The Lagos police command has arrested 50 suspects over the violent clashes that occurred at the Ile Epo market in the state.
Violence broke out at the market on Wednesday after a misunderstanding over a game of lotto, leading to the burning of shops and shanties by hoodlums.
Police officers were mobilised to the market on Thursday morning.
Benjamin Hundeyin, Lagos police spokesperson, said in a statement that normalcy has been restored to the market.

“Meanwhile, the assistant commissioner of police (Operations), area commander Alagbado and other divisional police officers under the area command are currently on the ground to forestall further breakdown of law and order.”
