Police arrest bouncer for ‘stabbing man to death’ in Lagos club

The police command in Lagos has arrested Kingsley Oti, a bouncer, for allegedly stabbing a yet-to-be-identified man to death.

Benjamin Hundeyin, police spokesperson in Lagos, said the incident happened at a club on Monday at Ago-Palace way, Okota area of the state.

Oti allegedly stabbed the man during an altercation at the club’s car park.

The victim was confirmed dead at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Idi-Araba.

Hundeyin said the police operatives arrested the bouncer after the club’s manager reported the incident.

“The manager of a club and lounge reported at Ago-Okota Division that a yet-to-be identified adult male, suspected to be a hoodlum, was allegedly stabbed by the club’s bouncer during an altercation between them at the club’s car park,” NAN quoted Hundeyin as saying.

“In the process, he became unconscious. The victim was rushed to the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Idi-Araba, Mushin, where he was confirmed dead by the doctor on duty.

“Based on the report, the scene was visited by a team of detectives from the division.

“The hospital has been visited where the corpse was inspected, and photographs have been taken.

“Corpse has been removed and deposited at Mainland General Hospital Morgue, Yaba for autopsy.”
