The Imo police command says it has arrested four suspected cultists and recovered two weapons in Mbeiri under the Mbaitoli LGA of the state.
Henry Okoye, spokesperson of the police command in Imo, spoke on Wednesday while parading the suspects.
Okoye said the suspects confessed to be members of the Vikings confraternity, adding they engaged the operatives in a gun battle during the raid but were subdued.
He noted that the feat was achieved through a reliable intelligence tipoff which was acted on by men of the anti-vice squad of the command.

“In the process, one of the suspects sustained gunshot injuries on his leg, he was arrested together with his cohorts and rushed to the hospital for medical treatment,” he said.
The police spokesperson said two locally made revolver shotguns, five rounds of live cartridges, military camouflage shorts, and face masks were recovered from the suspects.
“On interrogation, the suspects confessed to being members of the Vikings confraternity and provided useful information to the police,” he said.
