The Lagos police command says its operatives have arrested 18-year-old Sucess Adeyemi for allegedly raping a six-year-old girl in the state.
Benjamin Hundeyin, police spokesperson in Lagos, said the incident occurred on August 29 in the Isheri area of the state.
Hundeyin said the mother of the child reported the incident after the girl complained of pain in her private part.
“The child’s mother said that her daughter complained to her when she wanted to urinate that her private part was paining her,” Hundeyin told NAN on Tuesday.

“She asked her what happened to her, and the girl told her that Adeyemi had carnal knowledge of her.
“The medical report paper was issued to the girl for proper medical treatment.”
Hundeyin said the suspect will be charged in court at the end of the ongoing investigation.
