Police arrest man with ‘human corpse’ in Ogun

The Ogun state police command says its officers have arrested one Babatunde Kolawole, a resident of the state, who was allegedly found with a fresh male human corpse at Ado/Odo-Ota area in Ota LGA of the state.

On Sunday, Omolola Odutola, spokesperson of the command, announced the development in a statement.

Odutola said the suspect was first apprehended by operatives of Amotekun and handed over to the police.

She added that the suspect claimed to be a native doctor who was trying to bring the dead body back to life.

“Preliminary investigations have commenced into the incident. Although the suspect did not deny the incident, he claims to be a native doctor who was attempting to revive the deceased,” NAN quoted Odutola as saying.

“However, it remains unclear how the suspect obtained the fresh corpse during the late hours of the night.”

The police spokesperson said so far, no one had come forward to claim the corps, adding that the suspect did not reveal any information about where he got the corpse from.

Odutola said the corpse has been transferred to Ifo general hospital for an autopsy test.

She called on members of the community to provide any useful information related to the incident to the police.
