Police arrest man with ‘human skull, bones’ in Abuja

The police command in the federal capital territory (FCT) says its operatives have arrested a man, Nuhu Ezra, with human body parts in the Lugbe area of Abuja.

In a statement on Wednesday, Josephine Adeh, FCT police spokesperson, said the suspect was apprehended by operatives attached to the Iddo division on July 9.

Adeh said Ezra was caught with a human skull and bones, adding that the suspect claimed that he picked up the body parts while hunting in a bush.

“The suspect, who was found with the body parts upon interrogation, stated that he picked them up from the bush while hunting at Kuje and had the intention to sell the body parts for six hundred thousand naira (N600,000),” the statement reads.

“While the commissioner of police, FCT, CP Benneth C. Igweh, psc, mni, has ordered that a thorough investigation be conducted to ascertain the bearer of the body parts, the intended buyer, if the suspect killed anyone to be in possession of the body parts, and how long the suspect has been in the alleged business.”

Benneth Igweh, the FCT police commissioner, urged residents to be cautious of their environment and report suspicious activities to security operatives.
