The Ogun police command says its officers have arrested 124 suspected criminals over various offences within the last three months.
Abiodun Alamutu, the commissioner of police in Ogun, spoke on Tuesday while parading the suspects at the command’s headquarters.
He said the command achieved the feat in collaboration with other sister security agencies in the state.
“The command had discovered through credible intelligence the suspects’ hideouts, attacked them and had their weapons confiscated,” NAN quoted Alamutu as saying.

“The command equally recovered a reasonable number of exhibits from the suspected criminals.
“During interrogation, it was gathered that they have been involved in offences such as armed robbery, cultism, rape, murder and kidnapping.”
Alamutu said there has been a remarkable decline in the rate of crime cases in the past three months in the state.

“There has been a decline, except for the recent cult-related crisis/murder which was recorded in Sagamu. So, we are closing up on the perpetrators,” he said.
“I therefore reassure the people of Ogun that the command under my watch will continue to make the state uncomfortable for all criminal elements, especially cultists and land-grabbers.”
Alamutu also urged parents and guardians in the state to sensitise their wards to steer clear of crime.
