The Ogun state police command says its operatives have arrested one Joseph Ogundeji over alleged rape of two underage church members, who are sisters.
According to the police, the victims are 13 and 16 years old.
Abimbola Oyeyemi, Ogun police spokesperson, in a statement on Tuesday, said the victims’ father reported the case when he discovered that his 16-year-old daughter was pregnant.
Oyeyemi said the victims informed the police that whenever they finish vigil in the church around 3am, Ogundeji would ask them to stay in his house which is close to the church.

After waking up from sleep, the victims said they discovered that the pastor had raped them.
“When asked why they didn’t inform their parents, the victims informed the police that the suspect threatened to kill any of them that let the cat out of the bag,” the Ogun police spokesperson said.
