The Gombe state police command says its operatives arrested six suspects for armed robbery, criminal conspiracy, and culpable homicide within a week.
In a statement, Buhari Abdullahi, the command’s police public relations officer (PPRO), said the arrests were part of ongoing efforts to curb crime in the state.
Abdullahi said the suspects include Ahmed Shuaibu, 24; Abubakar Usman, 24; and Mohammed Nuhu Jibrin, 30.
One of their accomplices, identified as Habu, remains at large.

The police acted on a complaint by Isah Suleiman, a resident of Tudun Wada Pantami, who reported that a group of men broke into his home, threatening him with knives, machetes, and sticks.
The suspects allegedly stole several items, including a Heojue UD motorcycle, six mobile phones, jewellery, a bundle of wrapper, and an electric iron.
Following the complaint, officers from the Low-cost Division arrested Jibrin, which led to the capture of Shuaibu and Usman, along with the recovery of the stolen items.

The suspects confessed to involvement in armed robbery, car theft, and other crimes, having been convicted multiple times in the past.
They will be charged to court after investigation.
In another case, Abdulwahab Abubakar, 16; and Sadiq Abdullahi, 15; were arrested for allegedly attacking Sanusi Jibrin and robbing him of his phone at Riyal Bye-pass.
The suspects reportedly used machetes to inflict injuries on Jibrin’s head. The victim was rushed to the hospital.

A Huawei mobile phone was recovered from the suspects, who also confessed to the crime.
Abdullahi added that the police also arrested Haruna Ibrahim, 20, for culpable homicide. Ibrahim was linked to the murder of Auwalu Maigadali, 27, in Tukulma village, Akko LGA, Gombe.
Maigadali was attacked by hoodlums before succumbing to his injuries at Tumu Cottage Hospital.
Ibrahim will be charged, while efforts are under way to arrest his accomplices.

The PPRO called on the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to law enforcement, assuring that all information will be treated with confidentiality.
