The Lagos police command has arrested a technician for stealing street lights in Ikeja.
Benjamin Hundeyin, the spokesperson of the command, identified the suspect as 30-year-old Emmanuel Achogwu, one of the technicians contracted for the installation of the solar-powered lights on Ikosi road.
“Recently, the Lagos state government installed some solar-powered street lights in some parts of the state. A few weeks later, the solar panels were stolen,” the police spokesperson wrote.
“The police were informed and got to work. A few days back, 30-year-old Emmanuel Achogwu was arrested by officers from the Alausa division on Ikosi road with four solar panels, moments after he removed them.
