The Kaduna police command says its operatives have arrested a traditional title holder for allegedly sodomising a 14-year-old boy in Zaria LGA of the state.
Muhammad Jalige, Kaduna police spokesperson, told journalists on Wednesday that the suspect would be prosecuted after the investigation into the incident is concluded.
Hamza Zubairu, the older brother of the boy, told NAN the incident happened on December 9 at Kwarbai in Zaria LGA of Kaduna state.
Zubairu said the suspect is a neighbour of the victim and a well-respected person in the community.

He added that on the day the incident occurred, the suspect sent the 14-year-old boy to his room to bring some money.
The older brother said shortly after, the suspect followed the teenager into the room and locked the door.
The traditional title holder reportedly threatened to kill the boy with a dagger if he raised an alarm.

The minor was said to have been traumatised after the incident, and he narrated what transpired to his aunt.
“It was the aunt that reported the case to the police at the Zaria city divisional police headquarters,” NAN quoted Zubairu as saying.
Also speaking on the incident, Aishatu Ahmed, co-ordinator of the Salama sexual assault referral centre in the Gambo Sawaba General Hospital in Zaria, told NAN that the centre received a request for medical attention for the victim.
She said the centre had sent its findings and diagnosis to the Zaria City divisional police headquarters.
