Police arrest two for ‘stealing 19 beds’ from Jigawa school

The Jigawa police command says two men have been arrested for allegedly stealing 19 beds and four mattresses from a secondary school in the state.

 According to NAN, Lawan Shiisu, police spokesperson in the state, said the mattresses and beds belong to Government Unity Senior Secondary School (GUSSS) in Malam Madori LGA of Jigawa.

Shiisu said the police received information about the operations of the suspects, adding that they were arrested on December 27.

He said the suspects who are both residents of Malam Madori town conspired and entered the schools at midnight to steal the items

He named the suspects as Muhammad Nadabo, aged 40, and Auwalu Muhammad, 24, adding that security operatives recovered the stolen items during the arrest.

In another development, the police spokesperson said the operatives arrested two persons in Babura LGA for stealing millet worth N16,000 and 44,000 cash.

He said the suspects identified as Abdullahi Mujitafa, a 19-year-old and a minor, whose name was not mentioned, reside in the Kofar Gaba area of the state.

He further said some portion of the stolen millet and N500 was recovered from the suspects, adding that one Habiba Haladu was mentioned during interrogation as the receiver of the items.

Shiisu added that operatives are making efforts to arrest the alleged receiver of the stolen grains.
