The Lagos state police command has arrested one Eucheria Ndigwe for assaulting a teenage relative living with her with a knife.
On Saturday, a video of the girl with a deep bloody cut on her back surfaced online. The clip quickly caught public attention, leading to the quick intervention of the Lagos police.
A neighbour, concerned about the young lady’s well-being, filmed the video where he interviewed the girl about her predicament with her “aunt”.
In the clip, the girl identified as Chinaza Aneme, said Ndigwe, her aunt, used a knife to pierce her body deeply.

Addressing the situation on Sunday morning, Benjamin Hundeyin, the spokesperson of the Lagos police command, said Ndigwe had been arrested.
He said the suspect, who is heavily pregnant, “has been moved to our recently upgraded gender unit, where in conjunction with the Lagos Domestic & Sexual Violence Response Agency, she will get adequate medical attention, while the investigation progresses,” he wrote on Twitter.
Hundeyin subsequently said Chinaza, the survivor, has been attended to at the police medical centre in Ikeja, the capital of the state
