The Delta police command says a woman has been arrested for allegedly killing her husband during a misunderstanding in Mosogar community, Ethiope west LGA of the state.
NAN reports that Bright Edafe, police spokesperson in the state, said the incident occurred at about 1:20 p.m. on Tuesday.
Edafe who did not mention the name of the suspect, said the woman “drew the testicles” of her husband which led to his death.
“She did not cut the testicles; she drew it, and you know that part is delicate,” the police spokesperson said.

“The man died in the process and the suspect has been arrested.”
According to Edafe, the case was reported at the Mosogar police station by the elder brother of the deceased.
He said the deceased, identified as Jakpor Efemini, slumped during the altercation and was rushed to the hospital where he was confirmed dead.

“My younger brother’s wife (name withheld) held and drew the testicles of her husband, Efemini, aged 32 while they were fighting in Mosogar,” the brother to the deceased was quoted as saying.
“In the process, my brother slumped and was rushed to the hospital where he was later certified dead.
“The corpse has been deposited at a mortuary in Mosogar.”
In another development, the police spokesperson said officers from the command rescued four persons kidnapped on Monday along the Abraka-Eku expressway in Okpe LGA of the state.

Edafe said the victims were rescued in collaboration with troops of the Nigerian Army and members of Oreorokpe community vigilantes.
He said the abductors have demanded N10 million for the release of the victims.
“On 12/9/2023 at about 1600hrs, acting on information of the kidnap incident reported at Orerokpe Division on 11/9/2023, at about 0400hrs of four persons (names withheld) all residents of Orerokpe while on transit along Abraka-Eku expressway by Orerokpe Bridge, Okpe LGA,” he said.
“The kidnappers were demanding ten million naira N10,000,000.00 ransom. The DPO Orerokpe Division CSP Paul Oboware in a swift response led a team of policemen, with the active support of troops of the Nigerian army, and members of Oreorokpe community vigilantes, trailed the kidnappers into the adjoining bushes using technically generated intelligence.

“They combed the bushes relentlessly putting pressure on the kidnappers who on sighting the rescue team hastily abandoned the victims and took to their heels.”
He added that the victims have been reunited with their families while the command is making efforts to capture the fleeing suspects.
