Police: Corpse recovered, five persons arrested over clash at Alaba market

The police command in Lagos state says five persons have been arrested over their alleged involvement in the clash between traders and suspected hoodlums at the Alaba international market.

There was pandemonium at the market, which is located in the Ojo area of Lagos, on Wednesday after traders and persons said to be hoodlums clashed over the location for parking cars.

Several vehicles were said to have been destroyed, while some persons were also injured.

Speaking on the clash after the arrival of police operatives at the market on Wednesday, Benjamin Hundeyin, spokesperson of the Lagos police command, had said there was no cause for alarm.
