Police detain 14 ‘stolen goats’ in Osun

The Osun state police command on Monday said it intercepted and detained a vehicle loaded with 14 suspected stolen goats in Ede, Ede south local government area of the state.

Folasade Odoro, the command’s police public relations officer (PPRO), confirmed the arrest to reporters in Osogbo, capital of the state, saying the driver of the car escaped arrest.

Odoro said a police team sighted the vehicle with registration number Ondo XF 467 NND at Sekona junction in Ede, around 1am.

She said the driver defied the police stoppage order and veered off, revealing that a police team led by one Ajayi Sunday, an inspector, chased the driver from Sekona junction to Cemetery Area in Edun- Abon where the driver abandoned the vehicle and escaped before the police could reach the place.
