Solomon Arase, inspector-general of police, has again extended the deadline for the revalidation of tinted glass permit and firearms licence from May 31 to July 31.
Arase gave the order in a statement issued by Olabisi Kolawole, the force public relations officer, on Wednesday in Abuja.
According to the statement, Arase directed all commissioners of police in states to stay enforcement of the law on tinted glass permit and firearms licence until the expiration of the deadline.
It stated that the revalidation of tinted glass permit was free of charge.

The statement warned policemen against extortion and harassment of motorists over revalidating their permits and licences.
It urged members of the public yet to obtain the automated tinted glass permit and firearms licences to complete the necessary formalities for them to key into the electronic platform.
The statement said Arase reassured the public of the commitment of the force to the provision of 24-hour security for the teeming citizens of the country.
