Security agencies have repelled the attack of bandits in Augie LGA of Kebbi state.
According to NAN, the police tactical team in collaboration with Nigerian Army and local vigilantes foiled the attack on Saturday.
Nafi’u Abubakar, the spokesperson of the Zamfara police command, said one of the bandits was killed while an AK47 rifle was recovered in the incident.
Abubakar said the command received information at about 3am that bandits had invaded Tiggi village in the LGA.

“On receipt of the report, the police tactical teams deployed in the area in collaboration with the Army and local vigilantes were immediately mobilised to the scene and engaged the bandits to a gun duel,” he said.
“As a result, one of the bandits was neutralised and many escaped with fatal gun wounds. However, one AK 47 rifle was also recovered.”
He said Magaji-Kontagora, the commissioner of police, has reiterated the command’s readiness and determination to secure the border communities and the state against banditry.

“He commended the courage and gallant performances of the police tactical teams, Army and local vigilantes in their onslaught against criminal elements,” he said.
