The Anambra police command says the herders reportedly abducted in the state have been found, but one of them is still missing.
On Saturday, gunmen were said to have abducted 10 members of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) in Obene community in Ogbaru LGA of Anambra state.
Gidado Siddiki, chairman of MACBAN, south-east region, had said the attackers also rustled about 300 cows.
Speaking on the development on Monday, Tochukwu Ikenga, Anambra police spokesman, said the number of missing herders was eight.

Ikenga added that hundreds of cows said to have been rustled were also found roaming unguided in the same area.

“On April 24, some of the alleged victims of abduction were seen in the bush unharmed, while one of the supposed abductees is still missing,” he said.
Also speaking on the development, Arinzechukwu Awogu, chairman of Ogbaru LGA, said the herders were not abducted.
According to him, there was a misunderstanding between farmers and herders in the community, which made them flee the area.
