The national assembly police division has invited Darlington Udeh, an aide of Ike Ekweremadu, deputy senate president, for questioning over “breach of peace and disturbance” at the complex.
The letter of invitation, which was seen by TheCable, was signed by Nancy Ajaponnya, the divisional police officer at the assembly.
According to the police, the invitation of Udeh was to aide an investigation into the disruption of the inauguration of Sam Melaye as chairman of the National Assembly Legislative Aides Forum (NASSLAF) by some aggrieved members of the forum.
On Sunday, Udeh allegedly led a faction of NASSLAF to disrupt the event in protest of the emergence of Melaye as chairman of the forum. But the presence of security agents descalated the situation.

Melaye was reportedly elected in April under the supervision of the management of the national assembly and security agents, but some members of the forum were not satisfied with the exercise.
They, thereafter, conducted another one in May in which Udeh was elected as chairman.
Udeh is expected to report at the national assembly police division at 10am on Monday.
