Police officer, wife found dead ‘after altercation’ in Ekiti

Leramo Caleb, an assistant superintendent of police (ASP) attached to the Ekiti police command, and his wife have been found dead at their residence in Ekiti state.

The couple was found lifeless on Tuesday at Ita Eku area of Igirigiri road, Odo-Ado, Ado Ekiti.

Reports suggest that they went for each other’s jugular during a fight.

Videos of their lifeless bodies showed Caleb’s manhood severed with a huge cut on his wife’s thigh.

The video was taken at a location that appeared to be a hospital.

In a statement on Wednesday, Sunday Abutu, Ekiti police spokesperson, said operatives found the bodies of the couple in a pool of their own blood at their residence.

Abutu said a cutlass with blood stains was seen at the scene.

“Operatives from Odo-Ado division were immediately deployed to the scene and on getting there, one LERAMO CALEB was found in the pool of his blood with his private part completely severed while his wife, one TAIWO LERAMO was also found in the pool of her blood with brutal head injuries,” the statement reads.

“They were rushed to the hospital where they were both confirmed dead by the medical doctor. Their bodies have been deposited in the morgue for preservation and further medical examination.”

Caleb is one of the police prosecutors in the Ekiti police command. He handles cases at the magistrate courts.
