The Police Service Commission (PSC) has approved the promotion of six Assistant Inspectors-General of Police (AIGs) and two Commissioners of police (CP) to new ranks.
The promotions were announced in a statement issued by Mr Ferdinand Ekpe, spokesman of the commission.
The six AIGs promoted to DIGs are Messrs Dan’Azumi Doma, Mamman Tsafe, David Omojola, Solomon Arase (pictured), Christopher Katso and Salihu Hashidu.
While the promotion of the AIGs took immediate effect, that of the ACPs to AIGs will depend on the performance of the affected officers in a forthcoming interview.

The statement also indicated that officers who are aggrieved over issues within the force will be given the time limit of 30 days to lodge their complaints.
It added that aggrieved officers could appeal directly to the commission when action on its decision is not implemented by the police authorities.
