The Imo police command says it has dislodged a criminal hideout of the Eastern Security Network (ESN) in Agwa Oguta LGA of the state.
In a statement on Tuesday, Henry Okoye, the Imo police spokesperson, said the operatives of the command’s tactical team, responding to a tip-off, identified the hideout and raided it.
Okoye added that the police recovered several arms and ammunition including, three automatic pump action guns, thirty-one rounds of live cartridges and fifty-nine rounds of AK 47 ammunition.
“The hoodlums on sighting the police operatives immediately engaged them in a fierce gun duel but were later overpowered by the superior firearms of the police who professionally took vantage position forcing the criminals to flee with various degrees of gunshot injuries,” the statement reads.
