The Jigawa state police command has warned officials deployed for the constable cadre recruitment, as well as applicants, against engaging in malpractice during the exercise.

Ahmadu Abdullahi, commissioner of police, spoke in a statement signed by Lawan Shiisa, police public relations officer, in Dutse on Sunday.

According to NAN, Abdullahi also assured applicants of transparency during the exercise.

He said the applicants who completed the online recruitment registration exercise into the police constable cadre (general duty/specialist) and received invitation letters via their emails, are to proceed with physical and credential screening.

The screening is scheduled to hold from January 8, 2024, to January 29, 2024, at the police headquarters in Dutse.

“The exercise is free of charge and without any pecuniary obligation and the process will be conducted in the best tradition of transparency and accountability,” Abdullahi said.

“Also, the applicants are advised to be wary of online impostors, scammers, and other criminal elements who may want to take advantage of the process to dupe them.

“Anyone found wanting during the exercise will be arrested and prosecuted accordingly.”

Providing further instructions on the exercise, Abdullahi said successful applicants should appear at the police headquarters in their clean white T-shirts and shorts, and recent passport photographs.

The CP also said evidence of physical/mental fitness from a government-recognised hospital, and evidence of good character from the traditional ruler or village/district head of the applicant, are required.

Other documents needed are; national identity number (NIN) original and duplicate copies of credentials, birth certificate/declaration of age, printout of application forms, duly completed guarantor’s forms, and invitation slips.

The state commissioner of police said any candidate who fails to present any of the mentioned requirements will not be considered for the screening.

Last year, the Police Service Commission (PSC) in conjunction with the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), invited applications from qualified citizens as constables and specialists.

The online application portal opened on October 15 and ended on November 26.
