The Zamfara police command says its operatives repelled an attack by bandits in Tsafe LGA of the state.
In a statement on Friday, Yazid Abubakar, the police spokesperson, said officers killed several bandits, including Dan Mudale, a “notorious kingpin who has been terrorising Tsafe” and nearby areas.
“At approximately 1540hrs, a good Samaritan reported that a large number of armed bandits had stormed Keta town with the intention of perpetrating inhumane acts,” NAN quoted Abubakar as saying.
“In response, a joint operation comprising the Police Mobile Force, (PMF), Counter Terrorism Unit, hunters, and Community Protection Guards mobilised and engaged the bandits in a fierce gun battle.

“Regrettably, one PMF personnel, four Community Protection Guard (CPG) members, and two hunters made the ultimate sacrifice during the attack.”
The command spokesperson said the two hunters are receiving treatment at the Federal Medical Centre in Gusau.
Abubakar asked residents to trust the police’s dedication to restoring peace while imploring them to promptly report any suspicious activities to security agencies for swift action.
