Police rescue 2, parade 15  ‘kidnappers’ in Kaduna

The Kaduna state police command has rescued Mansur Musa and Elijah Afolabi, two residents of Kaduna, who were abducted along the Kaduna-Abuja express way.

Umar Shehu, the state police commissioner disclosed this at a news conference on Monday, warning kidnappers to stay away from the state.

Fifteen suspected kidnappers were also paraded by the police.

Shehu said the police were investigating the involvement of the suspects in last week’s abduction and killing of Ismail Inusa, an army colonel.

He revealed that one of the suspects was arrested for threatening and demanding ransom from some influential people in the state.

Shehu said the some of the suspects were in possession of foreign currencies as at the time of their arrest, saying the money was obviously collected from their victims.

One of the suspects confessed that he was a member of the gang that kidnapped a pastor in Jere, Kagarko local government area of the state.

Shehu said all the necessary information concerning the suspects will be released in the coming days.
