The Anambra police command says its operatives have rescued a kidnap victim in Umuduru, Ihiala LGA of the state.
In a statement on Tuesday, Tochukwu Ikenga, police spokesperson in the state, said the victim has been released to his family.
Ikenga added that the victim was rescued following the confession of a kidnap suspect.
He said the feat was achieved by combined efforts of the police, military and Anambra Vigilante Group (AVG).

“In an ongoing operation in Ihiala, a combined team of police, military and AVG operatives busted a criminal den at Umuduru, Ihiala and rescued a kidnap victim unhurt,” the statement reads.
“The feat is following an arrest of a suspect (name withheld) few weeks ago and his confession of being a member of a criminal/notorious kidnap gang terrorising the state, especially in Ihiala.
“The rescued victim has been debriefed and released to the family, while operations are still ongoing.”
