The Yobe police command says incessant attacks by “unknown gunmen” have forced residents of four local governments in Borno state to flee into Yobe communities.
A statement by Dungus Abdulkarim, public relations officer of the command, listed the Borno local government areas to be Gubio, Magumeri, Kaga and Konduga.
Abdulkarim said the command has commenced an investigation into the causes of the migration and has also put up safety strategies to prevent criminal elements from taking advantage of the situation.
He enjoined the public to be security-conscious and report suspicious persons or movements to the nearest police station.
