Policeman in Yobe kills self, two colleagues

A police officer in Yobe state shot and killed two of his senior colleagues on Friday morning.

Toyin Gbadegesin, the police public relations officer of the state, confirmed the incident, saying the officer might have gone insane.

Gbadegesin said the suspect also shot himself but did not die immediately.

“A constable in Nangere went berserk this morning, grabbed a rifle and shot two inspectors who died instantly,” he told NAN.

“He shot himself too but did not die instantly but rushed to the hospital.

“The cause of his action is not known yet but investigation into the unfortunate incident has begun to unravel the remote and immediate cause of his action.”

A staff of the General Hospital Potiskum, told NAN that the three bodies had been deposited in the morgue of the hospital.
