On Tuesday, Raymond Dokpesi jnr, chairman of DAAR Communications, owners of AIT and Ray Power FM, presented a giant seasonal card to President Muhammadu Buhari. The older Dokpesi, who is the founder of DAAR Communications, is currently facing prosecution for allegedly receiving N2.1 billion from the office of the national security adviser for the presidential media campaign of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Buhari and AIT have not enjoyed the best of friendships, especially after AIT aired a documentary on the then APC presidential candidate which many considered to be in bad taste. AIT was once barred from covering the activities of Buhari after his victory at the presidential poll.
With this history between them, tongues are now wagging over the seasonal card – with many Nigerians reading the gesture as an overture to Buhari over the trial of the media mogul, but many also think that in the spirit of the season, nothing sinister should be read into the token. Yet many also think gift or no gift is irrelevant.

BUHARI SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO GO CLOSE TO THAT GIFT, ITS PROBABLY PART OF THE PLOT TO ASSASSINATE HIM. THE GIFT PROBABLY CONTAINS SOME CHEMICALS THAT CAN KILL. I DONT TRUST THI PEOPLE, THEY HAVE ALL IT TAKES TO KILL MAN
