Nigerians are set to enjoy more hours of electricity per day as the national grid transmission has gone up by another 111 megawatts in two days.
The management of the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) on Thursday announced that the transmission had recorded another peak of 4656mw – a few days after hit a record 4545mw.
According to Seun Olagunju, general manager, public affairs of TCN, the new peak was attained at 10pm on Wednesday.
On Monday, the TCN management had announced the attainment of 4545MW peak transmission in the national grid.

The previous record peak power transmission was 4517MW attained on December 23, 2012.
“Power generation and transmission have been above 4000MW following improvements in gas supply to the generating stations as well as equipment/infra-structure upgrade and enhanced human capacity of system operators,” Olagunju explained.
“TCN assures that it would continue to work at enhancing the capacity to transmit more quality power to the distribution companies.”

Yet the people of Ibeju, Epe and surrounding areas in Lagos have not had light for more than a few minutes in years!

That’s good for the economy and for Nigerians but there’s a lot still to be done. There are many areas in Lagos and its environs that don’t for light for years for example Ibafo,Magboro and others area along that axis.Do more for the life of people to change.
