The Lagos state chapter of the Providence Peoples Congress (PPC) says it feels pity for the leadership of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the state for the “flagrant violation” of the inter-parties’ peace pact endorsed by all political parties.
In a statement on Friday, Segun Babayemi, chairman of PPC in the state, said one would not expect a ruling party to “ignore caution and display disrespect for the interest of other groups”.
The party accused the APC of using its logo during a rally to give a false impression of alliance between them.
“The party, thereby, calls the APC leadership in Lagos to a cautionary attention in the way APC fraudulently displayed PPC corporate logo flame of light at its own rally among others to give a false impression of either decamping or alliance with it. This subterfuge is nothing but sweeping lies together,” the statement said.

“Contrary to the intent of All Progressive Congress by this falsehood in its Tuesday rally, we in the Providence Peoples’ Congress hereby categorically state that we do not have anyone, or a group of people breaking away from our congress.
“We rather pity the leadership of APC if they are either lacking in the capacity to be truthful, or in the aptitude to conduct due diligence that forecloses engagement of impostor in their scheme.
“Whatever has become of APC is a clear testimonial of their due retirement from governance. We advise all our members and the general public to please ignore the ruse and embrace the godly democratic alternatives PPC offers the society by voting all our candidates.”
