Remi Tinubu, wife of the president, says prayers were responsible for the rescue of the Al-Kadriyar sisters abducted by bandits in Abuja.
The first lady spoke on Monday via her X account while celebrating the return of five of the six sisters who were abducted from the Bwari area of Abuja, the nation’s capital city.
The girls were taken away by bandits on January 2 alongside their father and some residents of the community.
However, their father was released to raise the ransom for his daughters to be released but one of the girls, Nabeeha, was killed by the abductors.

In a statement on Sunday, Josephine Adeh, spokesperson of the federal capital territory (FCT) police command, said the sisters, alongside other victims, were rescued in Kajuru forest, Kaduna by security personnel.
In her post, the wife of the president said the return of the siblings is a proof of the effectiveness of prayer.
“I rejoice with the Al-Kadriyar family, friends and Nigerians in general for the safe return of the Al-Kadriyar sisters. Prayer Works and I want to thank all Nigerians, especially mothers for praying for the safe return of the Al-kadriyar sisters,” she wrote.

“Let us however not relent in our prayers. Let us intensify our prayers as it is prayers that would bring us out of this conundrum we find ourselves as a nation.”
The former senator also commended security agencies for their efforts and urged them not to relent in combating insecurity in the country.
