Omolola Odutola, the Ogun police PRO, spoke of the case to TheCable on Wednesday.
The police spokesperson said it was reported that Adeyemo was holding a cane in the classroom when the primary six students rushed to embrace.
In the process, it was said that the cane accidentally pierced through the victim’s right eye.

Odutola said the pupil was rushed to the federal medical centre in Abeokuta where the wounded eye was removed through surgery.
The police spokesperson explained that the incident was not deliberate, clarifying that the teacher was not attempting to flog the pupil.
“It was simply a situation where the teacher, preparing for an end-of-year party, was holding a cane, as teachers often do,” she added.
“However, when the student rushed toward her, the cane accidentally caused injury to the student’s eye. The 11-year-old primary six student underwent surgery at the Federal Medical Centre, where her right eye was removed.
