Premium Times’ publisher, reporter regain freedom

The police have released Dapo Olorunyomi, publisher of PREMIUM TIMES and Evelyn Okakwu, a reporter, after delaying them for several hours.

The duo were arrested on Thursday over a report that the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) was investigating Tukur Buratai, chief of army staff, for allegations of corruption.

Don Awunah, police spokesman, had said the raid on the newspaper’s office was sequel to complaints filed by Buratai’s lawyers.

The journalists were taken to the police headquarters at Garki 2, Abuja, and later transferred to a police station at Wuse around 9:22pm, and later released.
